Bodies Sufficient for Our Tasks Ahead

By Kim Goodfellow

Recently, I received a diagnosis that troubled me. It could mean lifestyle changes. But frankly, some of the changes I’ve needed to make I’ve been procrastinating about.

This diagnosis caused me to add another layer to my conversations with God. I began asking Him to heal my body.

Our conversations caused me to broaden my view of healing while aging.

Bottom line, our Father continues to look for people He can partner with. This is another aspect of our union with Him; it’s another invitation to abide.

He’s invited me to ask Holy Spirit - as my guidance counselor - for specific things I can do to help with the issues my body has. This is what He’s led me to in the last month:

1. A book that speaks about the spiritual root of this condition.

2. A naturopath doctor to assist with hormone balancing.

3. Specific scripture verses that speaks of the source of my life and strength: HIM.

It’s been a wonderful time, because it added a beautiful facet to our relationship. It’s a divine dance. Sometimes I stumble and trip over the steps, but then we laugh together and He whispers encouragement to keep going.

But why all the focus on health?

Because I don’t want my flesh to ever be the reason I CAN’T do something. I want His strength and sustaining power to give me what I need DAILY.

So which is the greater miracle? Instant healing, or a life submitted to Holy Spirit to partner with daily for healing? I say both are miracles, but I choose to walk in the daily miracle until such a time He might choose to perform an instant miracle.

How about you? Do you have health conditions holding you back from His purposes? Start a conversation with God. Be brutally honest with yourself and make the changes He asks you to - even if they seem small and incremental.

Abide.
